The Mad Potter of Biloxi. A century ahead of his time.

He called himself the greatest potter who ever lived—and stored thousands of unsold pieces, waiting for the world to catch up.

George Ohr was weird. He had a two-foot-long mustache. He threw impossibly thin-walled pieces and then crumpled, folded, twisted them into bizarre forms. Critics were baffled. So Ohr stacked his unsold work in the attic and waited. 'When I am gone,' he said, 'my work will be praised, honored, and cherished.' He was right. Today his pieces command prices in the hundreds of thousands.
