Quiet color. Vessels of contemplation.

She hand-builds vessels so subtle they seem to hold silence.

Jennifer Lee creates hand-built stoneware vessels of extraordinary quietness. Her forms are simple—rounded, ovoid, gently asymmetrical—built slowly from coils over many weeks. The surfaces: subtle colors achieved through natural oxides and long, slow firings. She returns again and again to similar forms, finding endless variation. Lee was the first woman to win the Loewe Craft Prize.
